Colombia has demanded that Israel's ambassador leave the country amid a dispute over President Gustavo Petro's remarks regarding the war with Hamas.

Petro's comparison of Israeli attacks on Gaza with Nazi persecution of the Jews prompted the demand for the ambassador's departure.

The diplomatic tension has also led to Israel halting security exports to Colombia. Israel had accused Petro of making hostile and anti-Semitic statements, while Petro defended his stance against what he saw as genocide in Gaza.

Colombia's armed forces use Israeli-made weapons and aircraft, making this rift significant given their historical ties to Israel and the U.S.

The optics are not good, and getting upset that people are connecting the dots isn't a fault with the observers but shows thataybe your doing the wrong thing

You're right, but the point of DARVO (deny, attack, reverse victim and offender) is not to arrive at the truth but to confuse the issues.

Respect.

Taking a moral stand against your weapons supplier isn't just paying lip service, but actually making a statement with high stakes.

Also, criticism comparing your ongoing genocide against an ethnicity to nazism isn't antisemitic. Isreal government and military are not the Jewish religion or people. Your actions are being judged, not your beliefs or ancestry.

Claiming that your vile actions represent the Jewish people is what's really antisemitic.

Yes, I wish more people understood that the Israeli government and Jewish people are different, just like Hamas is not the Palestinian people.

This whole conflict isn't really Israelis vs Palestinians, it's the Israeli state vs Hamas and they are both enemies of the people who live there.

Saying "both sides are awful" is true, as long as we understand that means the state actors and not the people.

Saying what wrong Israel is doing as wrong is not anti-Semitism. Comparing one ethno-genocide to another is not anti-Semitism.
