Tl;Dr climate change. Of course there's more in the article about why the heat is concentrated in a few places. But the overall reason being climate change.

110°? Wow, that's 10° over the temperature of boiling water at sea level. Oh... Oh, that's in non-free-healthcare-units, right? Where they have to pay for University and the privilege to breathe. But hey, at least you can get a gun on every corner. I tell you why it's so hot: some fucking countries just don't sign the contract. China, Russia, the U S of the fucking A. Call me if you see a pattern there.

May nature burn us out like the macro-cancer we are so that evolution can go back to the drawing board.

Why do we want to go on like this? So we can continue to take turns fucking one another over in the name of selfishness and schadenfreude in perpetuity while we actively punish the rest of the natural world for existing as we do it? So a few can live in ignorant bliss for their opportunistic, exploitative malice inflicted upon the rest of their own species?

In the words of the late, great George Carlin, we ~~haven't learned to~~ outright refuse to even care for one another, and you think we're going save the fucking planet?!

No. This is right. This fever is earned and necessary for the well being of the planet and the natural world. We were a problematic, metastasizing plague upon all other life on earth. A highly destructive runaway mutation that refused to seek equilibrium with our environment, putting the larger organism in jeopardy. Life on Earth is hearty, it will eventually heal from us and thankfully it will be like we never even existed.
