Hey all,

Are you tired of flashy designs and modern web layouts? Craving that nostalgic feeling of the good old days?

Well I have some great news for you.

Introducing old.lemmy.zip

Go back 5 years and relive your younger days browsing that website but with all the luxury of knowing you're using Lemmy!

Just like our mobile site you can log in, browse, and fully interact with Lemmy.

Enjoy! And err... sorry.

LMAO this is brilliant. I unironically enjoy this design more. I wish someone built upon it adding features like dark mode and the ones from RES.

There's dark mode in the settings

Nice! Not sure I'll use it myself but the option is cool 😅

We're all about options here, no matter how.. err.. questionable they are!

I wonder if it would be possible to also have a LemmyBB frontend as well, probably is though I can see how it might also be a disadvantage. I know lemmy.rollenspiel.monster has one so maybe this one could as well?

Leave it with me, I'll do some testing and get it up.

What do you reckon as a subdomain? bb.lemmy.zip? Forum.lemmy.zip?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I think bb.lemmy.zip is a good subdomain since it helps convey that it's using a bb type front-end.

Apparently since the 0.18* updates its no longer compatible: https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmyBB/issues/99

But it should be fine to install once it has been updated

It's really nice to see the Mlmym frontend getting more and more traction from instances :-)

Oh yeaah. Don't think it's relevant here, but I just wanted to post this gif.

Never gonna use a .zip domain
