An interesting and reasonably balanced piece.

I learned a few new things about the fediverse, including a Canadian angle on the creation of the ActivityPub protocol.

It's good to see the fediverse getting mentioned by a mainstream news org but it is a little annoying it's through the context of threads, haha. It is what it is, I suppose.

I guess one of the good things with Threads is it raises awareness of these other platforms for people to potentially check out

I think Threads and the Anti-Meta Fedipact can coexist within the space of the Fediverae. While some existing Lemmy and Mastodon users might flock to Threads or Meta-compatible server, others will go the other way around, from Threads or just interest in Threads to an anti-Meta server.
