Sounds like something God would do. Satan isn't a trickster.

Satan's not an evil guy. He wants you to learn and question why. He wants you to have fun and be yourself And by the way there is no hell!

So, apparently there have been cases where Doctors have done pretend surgery, and patients have documented improvement equal to the patients who actually had surgery done to them.
