1. Be Kind and Respectful

Criticism of the game or its mechanics should not turn into attacks on a member of the community. Community members are encouraged to ask questions or seek advice, and should be able to expect respectful and courteous answers. In general, treat others of the community as you would a colleague or friend.

2 Do Not Post Copyrighted Content

3. Post Content of Quality

Posts should be able to spark dialogue, add interesting perspectives, educate, and otherwise contribute to the 2E experience. Quality EX: homebrew rules, analysis, something you discovered/encountered, memes that teach mechanics, stuff with a story. Low effort EX: the cover of a rulebook, AI generated content, unconstructive complaints such as "I hate..." or "X sucks," does not relate to Pathfinder 2E.

4. Limit Promotional Posts

This is a community and we welcome your content but we expect your participation in this community in return. Only 1 self-promotion post per week is allowed. With the advent of Pathfinder Infinite, users advertising Infinite products will also fall under this rule.

5. Art Post Details and Attribution

Art posts must include a follow-up comment relating them to Pathfinder 2e. This could be a campaign summary, ABC and build, or character profile, as appropriate. You must also credit the artist: images that are uncredited or AI generated will be removed.

I'm going to start running the Malevolence AP tomorrow, any advice specific to the campaign? Particularly interested in advice about how to handle the research section

Ran the first session last weekend, I think it went pretty well. Forgot the saving throw for Malevolence for the minor haunts but otherwise mechanically went smooth. The ambiance was good, they seemed a little unnerved by the atmosphere, we didn't get too far into the adventure after character back stories but next session we should make a lot more progress.

I ran it a year or so ago! It’s a great one. I recommend, if your party is in for it, leaning into the horror and jump scares. For the research I kept it pretty by-the-adventure rules wise. It gets a little monotonous, I tried to ad-lib embellish a bit with some detail.

I made a spreadsheet to keep track of their research progress, they'll start needing it next session so I'm hoping that helps keep me organized. I don't plan on deviating from the rules as written.

I haven't read or run it myself, but just a heads up that Malevolence is an Adventure, not an Adventure Path (AP).

Pathfinder's APs run over several volumes (either 3 or 6) and extend over a number of levels (typically 10 for the 3-volume APs and 20 for the 6-volume ones, at least for the 2e ones), while Adventures are much shorter.
