I have a ASUS Z9PE-D8 WS (LGA2011 v2) workstation/server motherboard and I'm trying to max it out to 256 GB of RAM (8 x 32GB). So far I've tried Samsung M386B4G70DM0-YK0 PC3L-12800L DDR3-1600 32 GB RAM modules and they do not seem to play nice with the mobo as I get random issues; freezes at the BIOS splash screen, reboot loops, video signal cuts out when loading the OS and/or no video at all at power on. I swap in a hodge podge of 16/8/4 GB modules and the mobo boots, OS boots and video outputs all the way through just fine. ASUS never updated it's qualified vendors list to include 16 or 32 GB modules. Before blindly trying and failing again with a different brand off eBay, has anyone had any success with 32 GB DDR3 ECC RAM modules for this motherboard (or any ASUS Z9 series motherboard)??

P.S. - These Samsung 32 GB modules passed in memtest (ran on a Supermicro mobo), so I know they're not bad.
