Believing in the existence of UFOs and aliens is perfectly fine (in fact, as far as I’m concerned, it’s a given), but the uproar of recent weeks has sparked a whirlwind of theories of all sorts, with everyone determined to prove themselves right. We went from an impending alien invasion to hypotheses about hybrids, angels, demons, soul containers, extraterrestrial experiments on the population, benevolent aliens here to save us from ourselves, structures on the Moon, pyramids built by Martians, government-orchestrated fake invasions, and theories about the abduction of aircraft.

But where have common sense and critical thinking gone? Where are scientific analysis and the evaluation of evidence? If we don’t calm down and try to find a logical thread that connects these hypotheses (discarding those with no real basis), we risk being trapped in endless chaos with no way out.
