I just get so underwhelmed when Matt milktoast Damon is announced in yet another huge project. I just don't get it. I know studios like him because he is easy to work with, he won't mess up, and has no controversies, but as an audience member I just don't see any appeal at all. He is just so bland. He deliveries all of his lines so straightforward, as written, like an . His characters have no intrigue, no quirks, no characterization.

What am I missing?
