XLM is used mainly for cross border payments to regions where people struggle with financial transactions.
Recent news regarding Stellar :
- Protocol22 is now live, allowing for greater security through constructors for soroban smart contracts and BLS12-381. Iirc Protocol22 was launched on December 5 of this year so this is very recent.
- Partnerships with MoneyGram has reached its second year and Etherfuse is also looking to adopt the block chain in 2025.
- Franklin Templeton's AUM through their Benji coin created using Stellars features have reached over 400M$.
- Over 9 million addresses on the Stellar network; Q1 2024: 8m, Q2: 8.4M, Q3: 9m. This shows a large surge in addresses from the beginning of the year up until the third quarter.
- Mastercard also partnered with Stellar on October 15 of this year too.
I feel that this cryptocurrency is rapidly expanding on its capabilites and its adoption but it's a dormant giant where it doesn't get as much hype or buzz as opposed to other coins
Edit: Don't mind the typo, it's XLM not "XML". I type too fast
