Alternative to rsync to backup drives on a mirror backup disk (zerobytes.monster)

I currently buy a pair number of drives, one for the data and one for the mirror backup. I use rsync to do the sync once a month. Do you have a better alternative? The drives are not mounted all the time so I think it has to be a manual sync

I use something that looks like a toaster to mount SATA hard drives
