Mabuhay at maligayang pag-alis sa Lemmy! βοΈ
An abandoned community for the Philippines and all things Filipino! π΅π
Started out as a Reddit alternative during the blackout from Jun 12-21, 2023 with over 1k members in just a few days. Fizzled faster than the "I Didn't Do It" kid after a month until it became the internet's Centralia in less than a year.
Filipino artists whose works were featured on our daily random thread covers.
I'm a BBQ, in your backyard. Melting plastic, it's fantastic!
Come on, J. Robert. Let's go party.
Feeling ko di iaaddress ng movie yung excessive consumerism associated with Barbie. Baka parang SATC yung take nila, na yung fashion and accessories ay kailangan para sa self-actualization, na totoo naman, kaso dapat ibalanse sa climate change issues and how the fashion industry is a contributor to the problem.
I'm so demanding, I know. π Naniniwala kasi ako sa kasabihang, "with great power comes great expectations." So nag expect ang lola mo.
Knowing Gerwig, those themes might make it to the movie. But I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't either since hindi papayag Mattel na ilicense movie nila just to have their company criticized.
Nakita ko uli si swimmer pool guy. I think he's hot. It's really the stamina, waking up early in the morning dedication and the discipline that does it for me, okay hahaha. Meron pa siyang timer while doing his laps.
Sa aking training program naman, my plan is to increase my laps per swimming workout. I do have skills I want to improve on. I'm not going hardcore intense because I want it to be fun for me and wala namang humahabol sakin. Sometimes pag ubos na ako ng hininga one lap is just me floating around the pool.
I like how they maintain the pool, hindi matapang yung chlorine. Walang super dry reaction yung skin at hair ko pagkatapos. Also a perk of being early in the morning: I have the cr all to myself tapos tuyo pa π ako ang taga-binyag jk. I think I might stick to this pool π€
Hello, Lemmy! Kumusta kayong lahatttt π«Άπ»
Mackerel scad dish
Kalma lang. Kinamatisang isda + gg ~~galunggong~~ lang yan, w/ patis and kalamansi for the win π€€
nakakita kami ng kuya ko ng ufo dati dec. 21, 2012 dito sa puerto princesa. i took a picture, but with an ipod back in those years. i even used photoshop to adjust everything the camera was just so fucking bad. i stored the pic in tinypic, thought it would stay there
Speaking of rats, bigla ko naalala yung JKX skit from two decades ago:
Thank you Mod Team for the good artworks! Please keep them coming! Actually isa sa mga dahilan na tumatambay ako sa PHlemmy is for the daily artwork recommendations.
Thank you!
EDIT: So may bagong Wonka movie pala. I feel the urge to get chocolate.
Also, may you fall asleep and wake up in a blissful mood today/tonight. I know I did after listening to this
So malansa ung pancit canton na inalmusal namin today because we tried putting spanish style sardines and onions. Sana nag kalamansi kami to remove the smell before putting in the noodles.
Basically my tongue sang this to my brain as I soldiered on to finish the terror of a dish that we had created.
Surprisingly, masarap naman, medyo tumatambay lang talaga sa ilong ung lansa haha.
Good morning phlemmings!
Props for experimenting! Inimagine ko parang pwede naman yung flavor, balancing the flavor lang siguro kailangan. Baka masyadong marami lang yung sardines, or maybe not the actual fish babawasan, pero yung oil (oil yun, ndi tomato sauce di ba?) ang babawasan.
Nacurious ako sa pancit canton, with its eggy flavor. Usually spaghetti ginagamit.
Sounds tasty, would like to try and eat it, kahit malansa basta masarap
If Pita Limjaroenrat can't even become prime minister of Thailand, I would be fine with Paetongtarn Shinawatra.
Edit: Iba na pala ang ino-nominate ng Pheu Thai as prime minister as their alliance's plan B, si Srettha Thavisin
istg these onlyfans subscriptions will have me begging on the streets
i swear to god im a generation or two behind internet acronyms
i have twt
My FIDE rating is 803, it's acurate since yung estimate ng noctie na 1122 yung Lichess rating ko which is 1175 yung actual is di na nagkakalayo, nakakatuwa lang kasi nadoble FIDE rating ko which is 400 lang last month since last month lang ako naglaro nung gumawa lang ako ng chess community sa chess tsaka lang ako nagsimula ulit
5/5 Oppenheimer
Despite watching it at a cinema with blurry PQ and a busted center channel that made following dialogue a chore.
Please make recommendations for the theater with the most pinsharp picture and clear audio. I would gladly trade the ATMOS shebang for both of those.
It doesn't have to be IMAX. Wala naman masyado scenes na visual feast. It's largely dialogue-driven.
Man, in the past few days and weeks, Filipino film nerds in twitter and reddit swore up and down that IMAX is the only way to watch the movie despite knowing that weβre getting the cropped version.
Having just finished watching it, I pretty much agree with your insights. Clear audio is a definitely a must as I definitely missed some lines.
Todayβs Ask PHlemmy: Before smartphones, how did you spend your time in public transportation?
Listening to music. Either through my USB music player, or through a dumbphone.
Before that, singing to myself, or sleeping.
Trying to find a view where you would not make eye contact while riding a jeepney.
I rarely pull out my smartphone in public transport, I usually just wait it out and pay attention to my surroundings. The only time I do is when 1) I'm sitting down in the LRT and, 2) have to set up Moovit to vibrate when I'm near my stop. It then goes back to my bag for the duration of the trip and zippers are sealed with an s-biner.
Mostly listening to music on my dumb phone or playing games on it.
Book, iPod/mp3 player, composing ringtones, reading books on text graphics to send to crush kek, yoyo (except jeeps), stare out into the distance.
Listening to music on my PSP or NDS.
I think I could only have an album or two worth of songs on the phone. That usually meant looping back to the first song on the list by the time I'm near the end of my nearly two hour commute.
I also preferred to rip my own CDs at 128kbps bit rate and could only afford to store them on a 256MB or 512MB Sony memory stick; hence the limited playlist.
Listen to the radio. Magpigil ng tawa kapag top 10 na ng TMR sa umaga.
I mostly sleep.
Listening to music on my portable music player of choice (Walkman way back then, and then MP3 player).
Without music? Just staring out the window, or people watching. I sometimes guess where people are up to after they've gotten off. On the train, I sometimes try to guess someone's station.
I sometimes read my school readings, but I tend to have really terrible headaches when I do this, so I just do this when I really have to.
Sleep, listen to the radio. Back in highschool yung driver ng service namin nakikinig lagi sa radio show ni mo twister dati. one of the top songs sa radio during that time was Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol ahhhhh. careless days.
Listen to music on my mp3 player.
Siguro kung bumalik ako sa panahon na iyon, magbasa ng libro.
Also, lemmy jaz say, the art is giving Maharlika realness.
Di ko alam kung dahil ba sa sipon o sa panonood ng Tour de France kaya sumasakit ang ulo ko. Dapat na atang matulog. Goodnight, phlemmy.
c/ph do we watch Oppenheimer on Liemax or standard 2D
- give credit to Nolan's passion
- nukes require best available cinema specs
- film claims to be IMAX optimized
- feel like a film buff + bragging rights
- films are seldom like this (despite being titled Oppenheimer)
.
- fake IMAX which tickets cost the same as legit ones
- IMAX corp ignores above fact
- cheaper, yet probably more sched options
- it's a good movie they could be happy we watched it irl
probably boring af film why am i so undecided on this help lemmings
I'll probably watch it in standard but good cinema, commute to MOA is a big challenge for me, baka pagod na ako pagdating dun at matulugan ko pa.
Talk-y na movie yung Oppenheimer, di ba? Hindi sya action movie, tama? Tama ba na magexpect ako ng mas maraming action scenes sa Barbie?
That's what's expected, yes. Hindi ko pa napanood Dunkirk so not sure how Nolan does with historical drama. May habit din kasi siya with pretentious dialogue like with his Batman films or exposition-heavy to the point that it treats the audience like idiots (Inception).
But I did enjoy Tenet when I thought I was going to hate it, and still love his earlier works (Insomnia, Following).
The safe bet is Barbie, though. If you just want something light and fun.
