This seems an odd criticism to me, this is just based on streaming data right? Are we mad that the masses didn't consider queerness when deciding who to play on repeat...? The top streamed stuff is mostly gonna just be whatever appeals to the largest number of people the most...

This is a community for art in any medium. Welcome!
Rules:
- This is a community to discuss all things related to art. Posts should be relevant to art, such as sharing art or news about art. To clarify, when we say "any medium," this includes media such as painting, film, music, literature, performance, video games, etc.
- Keep things civil. Critiquing art is fine but attacking other users for their opinions is not.
- Avoid excessive self-promotion. Yes, this is subjective and will be based on how popular this community becomes overall. If you can see a post about your own work on the first few pages, don't post another.
- Follow site-wide rules

MODERATORS
Fewer than one in ten people in the US in general are queer, so if they were proportionally represented we would actually expect there to be years with no queer artists in the top ten. Not really news.
More interesting is that other than tswift the list actually contained no women
Yeah, that one definitely feels much more odd to me
Click bait. So LGBTQ artists weren't the most streamed... By artist rankings... But THEIR SONGS and THEIR ALBUMS were in the most streamed.
There could have been an interesting "why" question posed and analyzed.
