Don’t worry about killing them; feel free to just fight them normally. When they fall to 0 hit points Cazador teleports them out (they’ll disappear in a red mist)

So that's what happened when I encountered them in a tavern while having daylight or so on me. I knew they were there from a previous playthrough but they instantly disappeared on my second one.
That's hilarious and confusing af without context.
