are the devs still bastards?

It's not likely to ever change. The community manager who was supposed to help ended up blaming the community for why he failed.

I select software on its merits not based on what you think of them 👹

Nope , they have the right to their own opinions just like you. Will just report your posts as harassment and abuse, the community has no relation with the hyprland Devs,

Oh I'm not asking about opinions my sweet summer child.

Well I did not say I asked for your opinion but that you are allowed to have an own opinion. Apparently English is not your first language, Calling me naive and ignorant with quotes from GoT is rather ignorant for a person that wastes its time on cancelling a product because they have beef with its developer while "winter seems to be coming" for wokism, cancel culture and lbgtxxxxxxx in the world om general. Just an ineffective waste of time. Grow up

I did not undeestand it as you asking for my opinion. I meant that this is not a matter of opinion.

Also, I think the slightly provocative phrase I used predates GoT by a few centuries. It is just a colorful way to tell someone they are missing the big picture, which is: By promoting hyprland (which I occasionally use myself, I must admit) one is enabling toxic behaviour.

Let's use an analogy: Would you still recommend a band, if their lead singer turns out to be a bully harassing stage workers? I, for one, would not and may even feel ashamed that I liked their music once. It may still be technically good art, but it will feel tainted from there on.

I do not wish to "cancel" anyone. I just want people to be aware.
