I mean, correct me if I'm wrong, but don't most grocery stores and gas stations sell liquor; at least in the Midwest? I know we do in Illinois.

Kansas was mentioned in the article as having some of the strictest alcohol laws in the country. They just started allowing beer sales in grocery stores a few years ago. I moved to the KC MO area a couple of years ago and it was surprising to see liquor sold pretty much everywhere.

Hmm, today I learned. I knew that Utah and some southern states have really strict alcohol restrictions, but I didn't picture any of the "traditional" midwest states to also have strict laws regarding alcohol. That's our bread and butter.

You can get low percentage liquor in Ohio. If you want anything above like 23% you have to go to a state liquor store. Admittedly the nearest one to me is a discrete location inside a local grocery store.
