Let's just not argue over what is what about protocol. Let me be here extremely clear here,. OpenVPN is the "standard" both in a corporate settings and withstanding censorship worldwide. There is no single fact on this that can go against this statement no matter how advance you make WireGuard.

WireGuard only network is the most ridiculous decision Mullvad has taken and I am thinking they are in over their heads at this point. Breaking down the classic adage of "Don't fix what ain't broken." is utterly irresponsible.

OpenVPN is a battle tested protocol and it is way ahead powerful to provide more resistive connection with obfuscation.

Other thoughts about their decision: 1. Possibly trying to milk more money from customers as now all devices must adhere to one protocol reducing workload while users pay the same price, as OpenVPN is more supportive with routers and pretty much unbeatable compatibility. 2. They simply don't give a shi* about what anybody thinks at this point. 3. Don't give any attention to OpenVPN DCO. Zero! 4. Just plain old "greed" engulfed the core principle of fight against surveillance.

This is like giving user a middle finger in the best way possible. When you can't talk with technology, they just hollow words and when they actually talked with tech, they never needed such essays.

This also gave me a reminder when they removed port forwarding because of abuse when technically they could have partially allowed it to work without taking much hit and yes, it's still present with many others including smaller players.

Mullvad now seems like some VC's puppet. This is painful here to write but now I have seen enough.

Farewell dear friend. It was a good ride...!
