With today's update to Windows 11, Microsoft is bringing the power of Copilot and new AI-powered experiences to apps like Clipchamp, Paint, Photos, and more.

Paint and Notepad getting AI updates is really funny to me. I'm curious how the Natural Language Narrator will handle tonal and pitch-accent languages.

Most personal? Bullshit.

The recent updates that attempt to force backups to OneDrive is about as anti-personal as it gets. Not only does it try to get me to duplicate data, it potentially could move sensitive data "to the cloud". Fuck. That.

I don't need AI on my desktop. An OS should be the minimal required amount of software needed to install and run other apps (including AI garbage) if I choose to do so.

Don't get me wrong! AI has had some significant improvements lately and that is a good thing. However, I firmly believe that Copilot will eventually go the way of Cortana when this current AI bubble slows down. AI/ML is here to stay, but trying to couple it with everything to see what sticks is annoying.

We are in the Clippy phase of AI right now. Tone it down a hair, MS.
