Update

Sony have confirmed that the deal with Microsoft will keep Call of Duty on PlayStation until at least 2033 which is likely to be about halfway through the PlayStation 6’s lifecycle.

Original story

With the FTC seemingly beaten and the CMA starting to cave to Microsoft Sony have signed a legally binding agreement to keep the Call of Duty games coming to PlayStation for the foreseeable future.

It’s not surprising really as up to 80% of Call of Duty’s revenue comes from PlayStation players. Neither Sony or Microsoft can afford to lose that much cash every year.

It's in both parties interest for this to be the case, so they were always going to come to some sort of arrangement.

Expected but good to see it done.

Not much of a COD person myself but it's important to have it on Playstation.

It is surprising that there is no concern for the other titles to get a reassuring message of continued presence on the PlayStation ecosystem. There are still games from Bethesda like Elder Scrolls, Doom, etc. and Activision titles like Diablo that seem to get no mention. It is one of those issues that arise from these acquisitions and considering the volume of titles now possibly being locked out of every ecosystem except Microsoft, it really is a master class from Microsoft to keep this attention on COD. They were never going to lock out COD from other systems because that is just too much money to throw away.
