There were ECQ officials at my booth telling the LNP off for having more signs than they're allowed. Fat lotta good that would be 90 minutes before the booth closed.

But it gets worse. The LNP tried to claim they weren't over the limit because some of the signs were authorised by a third party.

That third party was J Simmonds. As in this guy: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Julian_Simmonds

Not a surprise that Greens retain Maiwar, but it is a bit of a surprise just how strongly they're holding it.

Greens losing South Brisbane is a big surprise, given how strongly they hold Gabba Ward and that they won Griffith. I guess Amy MacMahon may have benefited more from Jackie Trad's corruption than we thought.

I honestly thought LNP's Fiona Hammond would have had a serious chance of winning Stafford on the back of her personal brand as a long-time Councillor. But Labor holds it comfortably.

Greens no longer retain Maiwar. Very unfortunate.

Yeah I saw that last night. Looks like they're back to calling it for Greens again.

But certainly, it takes it back into the realm that I was initially expecting, that Greens would win the seat but more narrowly. I was misled by how overwhelming the Greens win was in the booth I worked at plus how early in the night the ABC had called the seat for the Greens into assuming it was quite an overwhelming victory.

Happy democracy sausage day, QLD.

No sausage sizzles at the polling place I was working today. But I did pack sausage sangas instead, which was a nice lunch.

Antony Green says the LNP can reach majority

Not something I wanted to read, though fortunately maybe, it wasn't the landslide victory that was originally projected.
