Vaporents

Expats from Reddit's largest community focusing on cannabis flower vaporizers.

  1. Be chill, this is a cannabis forum after all.
  2. Post links, pics, vids talking about where your fav vape/bong/glass/pipe was from.
  3. Don’t sell anything consumable on here. No sales of herb, extract, carts, pens, edibles, drinks, tintcures, anything that’s a consumable product.
  4. DEVICES and ACCESSORIES like a Mighty, Tinymight, some custom glass for a Carta or PuffCo Peak, 510 Mods, log vapes, DIY/One off vapes/pipes/bags/stems/dab tools/Etsy type shit that Etsy bans. That stuff is fine. AT YOUR OWN RISK. And that needs it’s own channel/community(communities) if people are interested in an exchange.
  5. Provide citations/sources for posts/comments where needed.
  6. Openly discuss safety of equipment/devices and cannabis products.
  7. Be mindful of what you post on here. The point is to have the whole server indexed by Google and other search providers and keep the space alive/history documented/growing in the future. (AKA Share Knowledge / Share the vibes. / Don’t get me arrested plz. )

MODERATORS

Yesterday, I answered to some buddy about mixing THC / CBD.

Today, I came back to see if there was any interaction with other people, and only then noticed the "crossposted from r/vaporents" thing.

Damn I feel awful. Not only did I take some of my personal tome to try and help some fellow vaporents, but also this person will never even know I tried to help.

I perfectly understand that we need some content here to attract new people / former redditors, but I do no wish this place to be a ghost town.

What do you think ?

I've done the same, but I will post a reply as though I'm answering for any lurkers that might come visit this sub at some point.

But I do agree with you - we should just make our own content. Maybe as this community takes off, we can disable that bot all together

it's been off for about a week

Just as an FYI, as well: you can disable visibility of (self-proclaimed) bot accounts in your profile settings... But thanks for joining the community, and we look forward to creating fresh new content with you! Cheers, Loki

Wow. I did not know this either

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

ya know, it would have probably helped had I had that box checked for that account.....

fml.

It's checked now though lmao.

100% agree, which is why:

The post you commented on and linked to is in 9 days old

That bot has been off for at least 4-5 days now.

If you don't want to talk to bots, make NEW posts :-)

It was to get something in here, exactly as you said. But that time passed.

We'll still be bringing the old-as-hell stuff onto this server somewhere, but it won't be continual bot reposts like that

I just joined the community and didn't pay attention to the dates.

I'm glad this bot is off now.

Will be around participating.

no biggie :-) wasn't meant to trick anyone.

We're just glad to have ya aboard!!

I don't really understand the point of running a question post through a crossposting bot... huh???

That's kinda lame, but I could see it being nice in news communities.

The bot picked up and re-posted everything off of the sub's RSS feed. It wasn't checking what type of post it was unfortunately.

The bot was to get some content on here, hopefully to get followers that were human and would contribute new-human posted posts.

I'm thinking maybe it could be cleaned up and made more specific in what it does, and could also run on a schedule instead of 24/7. That could make it more usable for bringing in content and driving new stuff from not-bots over time as lemmy keeps growing....
