I bought a brand new deck of cards the other day and opened them to play with my partner and 3 year old. I did what you do first and went to take the jokers and instructions cards out.

There was only one joker in colour and I said how strange that was as you usually get a colour joker and a black and white one. Partner agreed and we put it down to budget cuts. Now we only played chase the Ace (or old maid) but decided to use the single Joker as the Ace/maid

We played about 3 or 4 games of this sat at the dinner table before 3yo started wanting to just play with the cards on his own. To make sure they were all still there when he was done i counted them, 52+joker and put them away.

The next evening pick up the cards to play again and theres now two Jokers in the deck.. both colour ones.. still no black and white. I was shocked, we paired up the cards leaving one joker a few times. Asked partner if he remembers out conversation about it and he does. So what happened? Joker replicated itself?
