My favourite thing about the build-up to MGS2 was not mentioning Raiden or the main plot at all and then being blindsided by the bait and switch ๐
That one is truly legendary.
I can somewhat understand people getting angry about it, but I just found it funny.
Masterfully played. ๐
As an adult, I can appreciate it, and in fact MGS2 has one of my favourite stories.
I think at the time it really fed into the hero worship of Solid Snake, and as you said, masterfully played
