As the title implies, does anyone know if CLEAR's membership is considered a travel category by Chase? Thus meaning it could be reimbursed through the $300 annual travel credit.

This isn’t a useful answer but, if you’re gonna spend the money for Clear, you may as well just grab an Amex. Assuming you’re profiting from the CSR, you can easily make back the remaining annual fee of the Plat, or just get a Green and pay $150 for Clear instead of $180 or however much it is now. CSR travel credit is as good as cash so it’s more efficient to do either of these.

The Amex Plat kinda sucks but it’s easy to make back the fee and then some by using some of the credits + using it only for flights, where it outearns CSR. By using most of the credits I nearly break even on the AF. Then I travel for leisure only, so not nearly as much as a lot of people online, and make >100k points a year, valued at >$2k per CardPointers. Can’t take it at face value because it’s only slightly outearning CSR on flights, but it’s enough to break even.

All from a card I also got to pay for Clear. Pretty worthwhile.
