Polite to give us a tl;dw. :)

Gotta love how people (very probably from outside community) blindly downvote the post despite it being relevant to the community. Lemmy genuinely sucks in that regard because it makes it hard to engage with niche communities...
More likely, people on lemmy blindly downvote YouTube links. Post a long form article, and you’ll see better results.
There’s a lot of rehosted trash being posted in general to drive clicks/Adsense revenue to tiny, new channels specifically for this purpose.
This doesn’t seem to be the case here, but generally YouTube links, especially with no summaries, don’t do great (e.g., I don’t want to put headphones on just for this).
I downvoted it because the title makes almost no mention of what it’s actually about and reads like clickbait article title.
That was my point, people pay no attention to where post was posted and just blindly downvote as I mentioned. The title clearly says that it's a minecraft retroscpect as well. It just pains me how the post was almost killed by multiple initial downvotes because I didn't summarize the entire video for them in the title. People constantly point out how people have too short of an attention span to actually read an article and just read the titles instead and the same happened to video just now. I'm not going to summarize the video in short digestible format and kill all the depth it had to it to cater to needs of people that don't care about the topic in the first place. This is why I said that it sucks to post to niche communities. And I'm not disappointed because "how dare people downvote me!" but because I've noticed how posts to niche communities that aren't catered to people outside the communities (aka mainstream) often get downvoted because they make no sense to the outside viewer. I'm sad because it kills those niche posts which lemmy desperately needs. This happens to any form of content, videos, articles, memes, etc. I don't believe that the video format here is the problem here like the others point out because of what I just described. I'm trying to look at the bigger picture but to people that just quickly pass through the post miss what I'm trying to point out and to them it seems shallow "oh no, downvotes!" which also doesn't help. I feel like the people straight up ignored any points rised in my comments simply because I pointed out the problematic downvotes which is a reflex that comes from other posts where trolls rightfully got the downvotes they're complaining about. I believe lemmy has a problem and I don't want to ignore it but I have no power to change anything anyway and it makes it all even more disappointing despite lemmy being a great thing for me and many other people.
