From her Wikipedia:

On August 8, 2024, she crossed the floor and joined the Republican Party.[5][6] Upon switching her party affiliation, Alvarado-Gil lost all her committee assignments, and was forced out of the Latino Caucus.[7] Alvarado-Gil is fiscally conservative and had previously voted with Republicans on labor legislation. However, she is also "pro-choice, pro-LGBTQ+ rights and anti-Trump".[8]

She's pro-choice, pro-LGBTQ+, and anti-Trump, but somehow decided that the GOP of August, 2024 - the opposite of all those things - better represents her?

She’s in for a rude awakening of how fast Republican primaries are a race to the bottom

Don't usually hear about instances of women sexually coercing men (thanks, toxic patriarchal double standards!). Taking him at his word for the moment, it's unfortunate that this happened to him at all to begin with, but good on him for being willing to speak out.

Important information glaringly lacking from the article:

(Depicted: Hon. Sen. Marie Alvarado-Gil offering to reach-around the aisle with her colleague)

Hon.

If that's an abbreviation of "honorable", I'm gonna have to disagree tbh..

Hispanic female Republicans are a confusing bunch. It's like that song Scotty doesn't know but in person form.

Somewhere deep down they gotta know, right? That they're being conned?
