Could be that those under him don't trust him any more, and even if he hasn't actually done anything that justified removing him he's having a negative effect on the morale of those working for him

He may be resisting using UAVs and FPVs inside Russia. There has been a tremendous amount of moment shifted by the last month of deep strike inside Russia. If he was trying to slow that down, it could be a sign of subversion.
It could be he fucked the wrong person's wife. Make up a better story.
