You can't not love a landing Grey Heron, what a spectacle.

I don't know... I find it very easy to "not love" Grey Herons, as the only reason they land is to eat every other creature in my pond. Fish? Oh yeah. Frogs? Love 'em. Baby Ducks? Delicacy. Baby Turtles? Eat'em like Skittles.

I really don't see any redeeming qualities in Herons. They devour all life that fits down the hatch. There's never been a danger of fish and baby ducks taking over the earth.

But aside from personal prejudices, great picture!

@[email protected] thanks.
Very adaptable birds. The more we lose fish from our lakes and rivers (UK) the more the birds will adapt and take other sources. I've seen them eat rats as well. But they are wild birds and that's thier diet. I've come to terms with that. Domestic animals (cats), I'm not so understanding of the bird deaths they are responsible for. And humans (foxes, pheasants, birds of prey...the list goes on). We are the worst danger to wildlife without question.

@[email protected] That’s a great pose you’ve captured. Looks like it could be hopping off to one side.
