this isn't necessarily unique to reddit but holy fuck is it trashy. is there a specific demographic of people that go to burning man or something? i know it used to have somewhat of a hippy dippy stereotype but idk if that's still the case?

Be nice. Rude, aggressive and antagonistic commentors will be made leave.

I don't want a classist definition of trashy being this subs main interpretation of trashyness. Posts depicting decadent displays of wealth are encouraged

The five patron saints of the trashy zone are Charlie, Mac, Dennis, Dee and Frank from IASIP. Please pay homage to them whenever possible.

No overly dark topics like sa or child abuse. I want a light tone to this place. What consistutes too dark is currently up to moderator discretion.

Burning man used to be a kind of neo-hippie artsy place, but in the past decades turned into tech-bros dropping acid and tripping balls.
Nobody is at the risk of dying. Burning man tickets run from $500 to several thousand USD. Many of the silicon valley elites get there in private jets and helicopters. This is a place full of very wealthy people who will flap in the mud and then find a way out or call in supply drops.
Do you really think that everyone there is a mutli millionaire? What about people who saved to go there? What about people that pooled their resources to get tickets?
i'm not sure about that - i understand the hatred of billionaires, believe me, but multiple news sources are confirming there's definitely been a death there and if it were someone that rich i feel like their name would be published?
I mean, people have died apparently.
Honestly, it doesn't matter who is there. The lack of empathy in these various threads is sickening. It's 10's of thousands of people in a situation that is potentially very dangerous and anyone that says they should have known better enjoy the benefit of hindsight.
