My friend found a Watchman at a garage sale yesterday. It's kinda like this thing here. It's about the sixe of an old walkie talkie, and used to be able to pick up tv channels by antenna. We tried it but no video channels came through, we were able to get some radio stations though.
Cassette Futurism
Welcome to Cassette Futurism Lemmy and Mbin Community.
A place to share and discuss Cassette Futurism: media where the technology closely matches the computers and technology of the 70s and 80s.
Whether it's bright colors and geometric shapes, the tendency towards stark plainness, or the the lack of powerful computers and cell phones, Cassette Futurism includes: Cassettes, ROM chips, CRT displays, computers reminiscent of microcomputers like the Commodore 64, freestanding hi-fi systems, small LCD displays, and other analog technologies.

(NSFW?) Searching images by "watchman" was not what I expected.
Yeah.... Might wanna add 'sony' to the beginning of that search.
That's not too bad. I was more expecting some blue dongs.
John's out here swingin meat.
I wanted one of those so bad as a kid. Unfortunately if you're in the US, all TV was required to switch to digital only in the 2000s, so it won't be able to pick up any modern stations. You could always buy a cheap analog video transmitter to go with it though!
Love it! Great to see more cassettefuturism posters!
Great for taking to a plastic beach!
