They mean dangerous for the dirt bikers. Somehow I'm not too sympathetic.

Is that San Francisco's general policy on not chasing people who flee from the police?

There used to be this sort of activity where I live in NYC. It started after the covid lockdown (as part of a general rise in crime) but apparently the cops figured out how to do more than watch helplessly because I haven't seen anything for several years now.

Edit: I'm reminded of Robin Williams' "Stop, or I'll say 'stop' again."
