Big brain tech dude got yet another clueless take over at HackerNews etc? Here's the place to vent. Orange site, VC foolishness, all welcome.

This is not debate club. Unless it’s amusing debate.

After a decade of cryptofascism and failed political activism, our dear friend jart is realizing that they don't really have much of a positive legacy. If only there was something they could have done about that.

Side sneer here for the Lobsters admin in this thread. They "hadn't recognized" jart from her domain and flatly refuse to acknowledge any of the dangerous political positions she holds. Typical. Also the sock thinks that we should debate fascists rather than banning and silencing them.

“Sufficiently polite nazis–which you cannot tell apart from normal users–will help a community, but uncivil people–even if good!– will harm it.”

This is literally how you get a Nazi bar.

Her political views were probably common knowledge to many of you, but I only learned Milkshake Duck was racist in a stubsack thread a few months ago.

If it's any consolation; sectorlisp might be written by a literal self-described neoreactionary, impractical, written by a cryptofascist, computer scientific masturbation, written by a politically incoherent and confused person, pointlessly constrained, written by an obvious cryptofascist and written by a fascist; but it's still cooler and more practical than Urbit.

I might be one of the few who had the reverse revelation, learning about her terrible politics, and then marveling at the amazing technical accomplishments when I read further. Is that a new different way to have a terrible time online? Discovering that Racist Duck also made milkshakes.
