From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).

Distributions include the Linux kernel and supporting system software and libraries, many of which are provided by the GNU Project. Many Linux distributions use the word "Linux" in their name, but the Free Software Foundation uses the name GNU/Linux to emphasize the importance of GNU software, causing some controversy.

Hi! I use a MS Xbox S wireless controller on Ubunut almost every day and it "just works" but your controller seems different.

It might help us to know:

  • How does that controller connect to your PC? (Bluetooth? USB cable?)
  • Which Linux distribution are you running and what version is it?

Also, does this help at all?

xone is a Linux kernel driver for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S accessories. It serves as a modern replacement for xpad, aiming to be compatible with Microsoft's Game Input Protocol (GIP).

It sounds like a firmware bug. Do any other devices have issues?

Is there a firmware update for the controller when using the Xbox accessory App on windows?
