Intelligent dance music (commonly abbreviated as IDM) is a style of electronic music originating in the early 1990s, defined by idiosyncratic experimentation rather than specific genre constraints. It emerged from the culture and sound palette of electronic and rave music styles such as ambient techno, acid house, Detroit techno and breakbeat; it has been regarded as better suited to home listening than dancing. Prominent artists associated with it include Aphex Twin, Autechre, Squarepusher, Venetian Snares, Boards of Canada, Telefon Tel Aviv, ฮผ-Ziq, the Black Dog, the Future Sound of London, and Luke Vibert.

Cylobian Sunday! Here's a track from Cylob Music System 3000 Volume 1, originally on Rephlex!

"Cylob Music System 3000" is a compilation of the two "Cylob Music System" EPs which first appeared on Rephlex in 2004, along with the four tracks released on the vinyl version of the "Spider Report" EP on Breakin'. The tracks were created using the first version of Cylob's self-made sequencing application, hence the name. Styles range from the heavy duty electronic funk of "Spider Report" and "Total Information Awareness", the twisted, detuned melodies of "Inseminoid" and "Chuckle Midget", bells and beats on "We Never Said Goodbye", and the heavy-duty 303 action on the appropriately named "Acid Inseminoid".
