Blockchains aren't an operating system so this comparison is meaningless.

Blockchains aren't an operating system

blockchains are still "systems". there is cosiderable diversity between individual node operators when a chain attracts people with a cyberpunk ethos.

because of this diversity, some chains actually do remain resistant to single point of failure events.

I think OPs point is valid.
