I play beer league and am trying to get into better shape. I've watched this guy's youtube videos and it seems like his programs would be pretty solid, but I'd rather not spend $150 on it and it turn out to not be very good. I'm mainly looking at his Next Level Hockey Training 2.0 program. I've been doing the Gary Roberts program, but wish there was more weight training since I don't have a great base of strength at the moment.

For beer league? No, I wouldn't say it would be worth it when there are a ton of free resources out there.

It also depends on your fitness level right now. Are you a complete beginner? Working out your whole life? Long distance runner? Etc. Where you are right now will effect what you should focus on. If you're relatively new, doing almost any program consistently will show better results than bouncing around from program to program every week.

I personally watch these videos for more hockey focused workouts. There is a whole section on workouts on the channel, but the same basic principles apply to a lot of the videos. Focus on mobility, the big barbell lifts for strength (squat, deadlift, bench, rows, etc), core, and some speed work.
