I just wanted to check in where the community went.

I mean even on the reddit info there is the old link to the lemmy.fmhy.net which doesn't exist anymore.

I moved to dbzero after the .ml domain name got nuked. Haven't heard much of fmhy since then on here.

Yeah, my original account, at least I have latte.isnot.coffee as a backup

I've been on .world so I'm out of the loop on this one. What happened to .ml?

FMHY.ml domain name got shut down by the government controlling the .ml domain names if I remember correctly. I think around august of last year, it didn't last very long.

A quick search says .ml is the Mali country domain. It may not have been the government specifically so don't quote me on that but I know they had a purge of people using the .ml domain names around that time.

Gotcha. Still interesting information none the less

Like others are saying, the .ml instance was nuked and it kinda killed the community on lemmy :/ That was where my first account was, so that sucked

They abandoned lemmy and it was partly because of how their .ml domain went down. lol

They're active on discord so if you want you can contact them there.

Maybe I'll check in. I found out about fmhy only by lemmy.

I miss lemmy fmhy instance ;(

Curious too

Ye, it's sad that they seem to have lost their drive to use any public forum like lemmy after they lost their instance. We were very glad to host them but we can't make people post. I guess [email protected] by itself fulfills a similar purpose though?
