So why the fuck is Perez driving for them next year?!

[–] [email protected] 5 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Sponsors maybe? I'm not sure at this point

[–] [email protected] 0 points 5 months ago (1 children)

They're gonna regret that sponsor money when they lose the constructors championship

[–] [email protected] 1 points 5 months ago (1 children)

That depends on how much money they gain from the commercial side of Perez vs how much they can lose.

Redbull got 140 million for constructors last year. I highly doubt they get that much from their sponsors

Red Bull doesn't need to get 140kk from their sponsors. They need to get the difference between P1 in the standings and P2 - that's only 9kk [1]. Besides, let's not limit ourselves to sponsors. There are other potential sources of money related to his marketability in Latin America, the main Red Bull company might be interested in that as well.

Identical lap times for pole! Crazy. Second time in F1 history.

Hamilton was doing so well. Dang, was hoping to see him higher up on the grid.

RB might not win constructors this year if he keeps this shit up.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 5 months ago

Ferrari didn't excel today either. I hope they get some points tomorrow

[–] [email protected] 2 points 5 months ago

Conspiracy time: rb gets more windtunnel time if they win drivers but not constructors...

I’m someone who very superficially follows F1. Can someone tell me what he did?

[–] [email protected] 3 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Perez failed to make it past the first qualifying round, finishing 16th, while his teammate, Max, grabbed the number two spot for tomorrow's race.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Oh damn… he seemed to be doing really well earlier in the season. That’s disappointing. Thanks mate

There has always been a pretty large gap between Perez and Max in terms of performance. It's been speculated that it is more a matter of the competition's cars getting faster than Perez's performance declining. They have found a way to catch up with Red Bull car and only Max's skill is keeping them ahead.

Bounced in Q1.

Ferrari 💀

What a bonkers qualifying so far.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 5 months ago

.0001 time difference lol

[–] [email protected] 6 points 5 months ago (1 children)

I'm sorry, but this is why you dont give someone who's grossly under-performing a 2 year contract at this point of the season.

You use the possibility of a contract to motivate and then reward performance

You dont give the contract and hope that motivates them to perform

I mean at least its distracted from Horner, everyones laughing at Checo now

[–] [email protected] 1 points 5 months ago

I think they were hoping that the comfort of knowing he’s safe would help him but clearly that hasn’t worked.

He’s on a 1+1 deal so if this keeps up I doubt he’ll get the +1.

A tie at .000, That's a nice number

This season is evolving into an absolute classic. Look at the margins

[–] [email protected] 3 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Holy moly indeed, Russell.

Wonder what happened with Albon's rear right tire.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 5 months ago

First guess is the wheel nut started to come out of where its captive and was stuck. That's just a guess though.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 5 months ago

Rain could make it an interesting quali.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 5 months ago

Curious to see if Lewis has something in the bag today. That seemed like some lap he put in, in FP3..

[–] [email protected] 2 points 5 months ago (1 children)

How are Merc suddenly doing so well, and Ferrari so slow?!

[–] [email protected] 1 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Ferrari sent both cars out on used tires for their finals runs of Q2

[–] [email protected] 2 points 5 months ago

Classic Ferrari strategy...you cantndo badly in q3 if u never get into q3...

[–] [email protected] 2 points 5 months ago

Perez 💀

Sargeant had quite a decent lap. Monstrous Q1 for Verstappen.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 5 months ago

When qualy is this amazing I barely even care about the race to be honest. What a great show that was.

Interesting stroboscopic effect with Max and the AWS logos.
