There was a guy in a discord chat I hang out in that never got any joke or reference because they were adamant about avoiding anything popular.

Ok... But now you can't join in on the conversation like 90% of the time because the rest of us are watching, playing and reading the same stuff and talking about it. Probably why I haven't seen him in the chat for months. πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ

I've seen a bit of most popular shows, if only to form an informed opinion about them.

Most from my early adult years (mid-1990s) are so terrible that I stopped watching TV entirely.

I would date them so we can amaze people about the amount of movies and shows we haven't watched combined.
