I got the Sacrifice aspect from a dungeon and it looks pretty nice for my Necro blood build, but I'm afraid to use it. It will only apply to a weapon, and my current weapon that I want to keep is legendary, with an aspect I imprinted on it (blood surge echo, means I get a free blood surge effect every time I use it). If I imprint Sacrifice I will lose this imprinted aspect, and I cannot remove it, if I understand correctly. Is that also the case with the aspects I find when completing a dungeon? I'm going to need to replace this weapon at some point soon, when I get a better one, but I don't want to lose the aspect...

You can imprint aspects from clearing a dungeon an infine amount of times. The roll you get will be the lowest possible though. Imprinted aspects are not removable by extraction, but they are overwritable by imprinting. The sacrificial aspect isn't only imprint able on a weapon though. You can imprint it to 1h, 2h weapons, gloves, rings and amulets. https://hardcoregamer.com/db/d4/d4-sacrificial-aspect-diablo-4-database/446907/

You can extract aspect from legendary items and they will be stored in Consumables tab in your inventory. Doing this destroys the item. From there you can imprint it on a other item when needed but you won't be able to extract it again. I haven't tried imprint new apsect on another legendary item yet. If it's possible I would assume it would overwrite the existing one. So you'd lose it.

That's exactly what happens. Imprinting a legendary overwrites the current aspect leaving only the imprinted aspect. From that point on it handles exactly like any other imprinted legendary.

And you can't extract the aspect once it's imprinted.

To op: If you're like level 25 put aspects you really want on necklace and don't replace them. You need to change weapons too often to keep any important aspects on them as you level.

But if it's one you get in a dungeon, I think you can imprint it again

Yeah you can. But I think it’s a waste of some harder to get resources at that level.

The one from dungeon has minimum random value, so mostly used if it's a critical aspect for your build. For any other it's better to look for it from legendary items

Until I find a sacrificial aspect, I'll use the one from the dungeon!

You should be able to imprint the aspect on a ring or amulet too. You can imprint dungeon aspects an infinite number of times.

You can extract the aspect from your current weapon and it'll store it in your bag under the aspect tab. I think it destroys the weapon in the process though, so be sure to have another weapon handy.

True, but you can not extract an aspect that you imprinted once into a weapon

Oh, I didn't know that! Thanks for the tip.

You usually find better stat aspects on legendaries anyway.
