what does "show assistant recommendations" mean? (lemmy.ml)

If you go to setting>sound and vibration>media you see a setting called "Show assistant media recommendations" which is "based off of your activity". Because Assistant is capitalized, I assume it refers to google assistant. I have no gapps, so i dont have google assistant. anybody have ideas about this?
