I am going to be moving into a college dorm in the fall and would ideally like to condense/improve my current setup while not being murdered by my roommates.

Current setup:

  • Random Asus Desktop
  • i5-9400 - 12 GB RAM
  • Running proxmox but is exclusively running truenas because low ram
  • LSI 9811-8i with 8 4TB sas drives
  • Thinkpad T470

    • i5-7300U - 16GB RAM
    • Runs all my other containers (bluebubbles, game servers, etc)
  • RPi

    • Runs klipper and keeps quorum for proxmox cluster

I was thinking about shopping for some 2U blade server that has as least 8 LFF slots and swapping the fans for noctuas. I would consider getting a tower with more cores/ram but I'd like to have my drives built into the unit instead of off to the side like I have them now. I would also eventually like to run a direct 10G line from my PC to my NAS. I have a budget of about $800. Any thoughts?
