Don't be a dick. This includes any kind of trolling, baiting, etc. Bigotry may result in an instant permaban.

Rule 2 - No misleading or non-descriptive titles

Rule 3 - Keep post and comments relevant

Posts must be related to Plex and Plex-related products, apps. etc. Try to keep comments relevant to the parent comment and to the post.

Rule 4 - Keep discussions of media acquisition limited to means and methods only.

Discussions regarding media acquisition should be limited to the how not the what, as this is not the place to discuss piracy of specific media. There are other communities for that, and we don't want to get this community defederated from instances where it's a forbidden topic. Posts/comments discussing specific acts of piracy (How do I find X show? or Where can I download Y film?)will be removed. For further clarification see this post

Rule 5 - No asking / offering Plex shares.

I might be a bit out of the loop here but why was the decision made to migrate the community to a different instance?

All I've seen is that it was to move to a "friendlier" instance, did something happen previously or is this just related to the admins of lemmy.ml?

I think one of the main mods was banned from the instance for having multiple accounts. Personally I don't see that as a problem unless it is used problematically.

And the .ml instance was a bit too tankie at times.

Whomever over there posted and locked the thread should probably also pin it.

The admins banned all of the mod accounts? Seems a bit drastic to me. All the community ever had was plex stuff. Iโ€™ll come here now. ยฏ\_(ใƒ„)_/ยฏ

getting banned from lemmy.ml is almost as easy as getting banned from startrek.website

It seems sloppy to ban the mods of a community without giving them the opportunity to hand off to another user.

Oh wow, I did not know that had happened. Totally makes sense to move, just had a feeling something had triggered the decision. Lemmy.ca seems to have a more active Plex community but it's always good to have a backup.
