Probably the most sincere so-bad-it's-good movie ever made?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 6 months ago

I've been saying the same. Movies that are just as sincere are not nearly as good-bad as this.

I worry it can't possibly live up to the cover art.

It absolutely does. It's easily an S-tier bad movie. What makes it special to me is that it's very earnest and even wholesome throughout. It has plenty of terrible acting and questionable choices, but it was made by someone who really believed in it and wanted to genuinely spread a positive message. It's worth your time.

You were so right. I can't believe it's real.

Dude it's so fucking good. This is one of the few movies on this sub I've seen and can vouch for. Karate rock band fighting motorcycle ninjas?? Incredible.

It was incredible. It might be the most '80s thing that exists. It was stunning.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 6 months ago

It's so true. It makes me so happy you watched it.

Absolute classic.

Awesome cover art

Everyone. If you haven't seen this, immediately stop what you're doing and remedy that particular situation. There's Gone with the Wind, The Godfather, and this. Not even necessarily in that order.

Only through the elimination of violence can we achieve world peace.

cue montage of main characters cutting dudes apart with swords

Y K Kim really just went all in and it's hilarious.

It was an era of vests and shirts that looked like vests.

@LaurenceWolse An Andy Sidaris classic!

Here's a GIF I made of my favorite moment from this film.

You're right, it is a classic! Sidaris isn't the director however (Y.K. Kim and Richard Park are). I think you might have it confused with Malibu Express? ;)

[–] [email protected] 2 points 6 months ago

@LaurenceWolse Oooh, you're right, thanks.

This movie fucking rocks! And kicks ass! And jams! And rips!

I could do more slang words appropriate to the movie but I'll show some restraint.

Seriously love this movie though. Thank you Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon for inadvertently introducing this movie to me. _Friends for eternity! _
