As a privacy advocate and a socialist it saddens me a tremendous deal that most branches of the dsp use closed source software apposed to Foss like signal even if it were optional.

Anyway I'd like to be more involved in a community so does anyone have any signal or matrix groups I could join?

A Democratic Socialist party is definitely allowed; we just don't have one specifically named that. "International" parties are allowed, c. f. The Pirate Party, but there's no legal framework for any representation or recognition of non-Americans, and in fact "foreign influence" can be legally complicating. However, like the Pirate Party, there's nothing stopping a party from aligning its values and planks with those of parties in other countries, and even adopting the same name.

Have you discussed with them that closed source software is a form of capital, and using foss is a form of direct action?
