Shouldn't elements from the master slide in LibreOffice Impress be locked from editing?

"Elements on a master page can only be changed from the master page view and are protected in the regular slide editing view." (OpenOffice)

...that's is the behavior I'm used to. But in Impress, all elements from the master slide are still editable in all individual slides. I keep accidentally moving them. Is this a setting?

Don't know what you are doing differently, but I can edit Master Slide content only when in Master Slide View, not in Normal View.

If you're not in the Master Slide View though, you may want to ask at https://ask.libreoffice.org/ and attach a sample file and/or screenshot to the question.

@erAck @libreoffice I will eventually, but I wanted to avoid creating yet another account and harness the power of the fediverse.

@erAck Maybe I am mixing up master slide and slide designs. Maybe those placeholder elements for the title and content are treated differently?

Yes, title and content boxes are individual copies on each slide. Which makes sense because sometimes one wants to enlarge the content box or remove the title or attribute content boxes differently on different slides.

@erAck @libreoffice Yeah, it makes sense. I just didn't know these are treated specially. It would be nice to make that a little clearer (LibreOffice is otherwise pretty self explanatory) but I'm sure they have more important things to work on.

Also note that by posting to the @[email protected] Group you're creating a post in its Lemmy instance's community, and answering there doesn't create a mention (hence my earlier reply didn't), so you need to pro-actively check for replies to your toot.

There was no mention, but I did get a notification about this one:

I've done this a few times and it seems to work well.

Or maybe it was just because you're following the group account. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
