I was listening to En flyktig drøm by Bjøro Håland and Lillian Askeland and was reminded of my two stints in Norway as a uni student. My second one was in Telemark and there the vibe was certainly more country-like than in Bergen. I recall the country music playing in a pub in Bø and the old retro American cars being paraded on 17. mai and also the end of High School, the russefeiring with students being driven around in American vans painted red. I was part of an international group of students from all over, but I recall that the American ladies had most of the attention from the locals and I know for sure of a couple that is now married (American girl, Norwegian guy).
Some of the Norwegians I met were also enthusiastically telling me of planned or previous trips to the States. Do you guys like Minnesota and Wisconsin that much?
Cheers to all of you.
