Dear Audiophiles.

I have recently received my fathers old Sansui AU 9500 back from a full service. There are paired up with B&W CDM1 speakers.

My good friend makes his own turntables and I will soon purchase one from him with an acrylic plate and the chassis made of rosewood. I have an old Garrard 401 record player with a SME 3012 tonearm. The tonearm needs service and a new cartridge. My question is which cartridge to choose? I have heard good things about both Sumiko and Ortofon, but I have no clue on what to choose.

My budget is within 300-400 american dollars.

Thanks for you time and considerations.
