badposting is a comm where you post badly

This is not a [email protected] alternative. This is not a [email protected] alternative. This is a place for you to post your bad posts.

Ever had a really shitty bit idea? Joke you want to take way past the point of where it was funny? Want to feel like a stand-up comedy guy who's been bombing a set for the past 30 minutes straight and at this point is just saying shit to see if people react to it? Really bad pun? A homemade cringe concoction? A cognitohazard that you have birthed into this world and have an urge to spread like chain mail?

Rules:

  1. Do not post good posts.
    • Unauthorized goodposting is to be punished in the manner of commenting the phrase "GOOD post" followed by an emoji that has not yet been used in the thread
    • Use an emoticon/kaomoji/rule-three-abiding ASCII art if the rations run out
  2. This is not a comm where you direct people to other people's bad posts. This is a comm where you post badly.
  3. This rule intentionally left blank.
  4. If you're struck for rule 3, skill issue, not allowed to complain about it.

Code of Conduct applies just as much here as it does everywhere else. Technically, CoC violations are bad posts. On the other hand: L + ratio + get ~~better~~ worse material bozo

Been trying to make federation work for a while now but none of the posts even show up. I went out of my way to follow all the comms and pretty much every user I see. Would this just be the kind of thing I need to do as an instance owner to make it click the way Lemmy-Lemmy federation does? @[email protected]

Tagging a community (like you just did with badposting in your post) makes it so your post ends up in that community. You can see the lemmy end of things here.

@[email protected] Thanks for the info. I already have that (good to clarify a bit though so ty) tho I was asking about why nothing shows up on the microblog frontend and if it's less cruddy if I like, set myself up as a FireFish admin and target you with the main cannon

It's so cute that you think people on Lemmy care about communicating with others

@[email protected] 😐Looking for technical advice about whether instance owners on either the Lemmy or Misskey/Mastodon side can even fix this. Do you actually know or is this just throwing shade

I don't know anything, no

Your instance looks like a mastodon instance, do Hexbear posts show up on mastodon instances? Or just lemmy instances.

@[email protected] They show up on here and honestly the link display is better. I really don't like Lemmy format. So I'm a bit bummed that no matter how hard I try to follow everything on here, TCHNCS.DE only seems to grab a tiny sliver of the content I even subscribed to. I followed /c/music over a week ago and not a single post has appeared. It's pointless. Also I want to upvote by using Misskey emoji likes, allowing me to immediately categorize everything into a cloud stored folder.

If I can fix this by starting my own Firefish instance and setting Hexbear and Lemmy and Lemmygrad as favorites, it'll be epic. Also makes comments show up when it works, unlike RSS.

Otherwise I'm just going to stop using Lemmy actively, I don't even like it. Just wanted to be able to mass search stuff. I can use RSS so you get hit with my infamous CTRL-F posting, but that's sad to use Lemmy -> RSS -> Misskey RSS connection made by DIYgod

@[email protected] Okay seems like I failed to convey anything here.

- hexbear posts do not show up much with remote follows

- could I fix this if I were an admin of this instance i am on?

- i can't enter in a post url like i can with most instances. lemmy's urls don't work in the search box
