From my media bubble it does look like he's losing and that Trump is far and away ahead. If Trump had to drop out for whatever reason I'm not sure DeSantis would be #2.

My perspective from within my bubble is the same as Chunk's. For context I'd say I'm left of center across most issues- I'd not realized that the right might have a different perspective actually, I kinda assumed that folks on the right also felt like Trump was the strong favorite for conservatives, particularly that for that brand of conservatism

Trumps last loss showed that moderates truly do not like extremes and likely will vote for Biden again even if they have to hold her noses. In my view, moderates are what gave Biden his current presidency, and there's no reason to believe that DeSantis has enough appeal to overcome his polarizing policies and political theatric. Regardless, it will likely be a close race and he could win as the GOP works tirelessly to gerrymander and hinder voting rights.
